The ammount of detail that we can see in these images is incredible. Each character seems to have some original twist (the female redguard has only one working eye!). Another nice change is the face paint! This should offer even more options to make each character unique!
“There is large amount of customization available for each race. You can choose from multiple hair styles, beards, scars, and face paint. Each race and gender has a light and heavy build and you can pick any level in between. We’ve completely redone our facial system, and we’re really excited to show off the results.” – Matt Carofano (Lead Artist)
And if you were to compare them to Oblivion you would see just how far Bethesda have come in the last few years!

Oblivion vs Skyrim

Of course, comparing the graphics of one Elder Scrolls game to another is useless considering that they were (and are) produced, developed, and published years apart! On the other hand it just goes to show the immense progress that has been made.
